Position: Church Planting Associate Pastor

Employer: Living Hope Orthodox Presbyterian Church (Allentown, PA):

Description: Under the oversight of Living Hope Orthodox Presbyterian Church, serve as the organizing pastor of the Park Church church plant.

 

Responsibilities:

Public Worship: Preaching of the Word (Sunday morning service); administering the sacraments and performing all other duties in accordance with the Orthodox Presbyterian Book of Church Order.

 

Pastoral Care: Leading in the development of congregational resources for visitation and counseling; participating in pre-marital counseling; conducting weddings and funerals; providing biblical counsel to members; participating in congregational activities (service projects, meals, Bible studies, etc.)

 

Teaching: Facilitating/teaching Adult Sunday School, mid-week Bible studies, and regular men’s ministries; teaching new membership and communicant classes.

 

Administration: Leading and participating in Session meetings; coordinating and delegating administrative tasks as needed; providing general oversight and responsibility of managing the church as a while; serving our local presbytery and the wider denomination as needed.

 

Evangelism and Outreach: Training, leading, and motivating congregational efforts in local evangelism and foreign missions; encouraging the church to love their neighbors through good works; comfortable with personally sharing the Gospel; coordinating outreach projects with partners outside the church and partaking in various ministries of service and leading a life of faith in accordance with the doctrine of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church as contained in the Westminster Confession of Faith and its Larger and Shorter Catechisms.

 

Requires a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Ministry or related discipline, ordination in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, and 6 months of experience preaching, teaching, and counseling within the OPC. Remote work permitted up to 80% of the time based from home in the Doylestown area. Minimal (5%) local travel within Bucks, Philadelphia, and Lehigh Counties to attend church governance meetings and visit church members and those who are sick or dying to provide ministerial support.
