Our elders serve with our pastor on the church session, Living Hope's governing body. The elders are committed, both collectively and individually, to shepherding the flock by attending to the spiritual needs of God's people. Our pastor, Tony Phelps, is a Teaching Elder. His biography may be found under Our Staff. Our ruling elders are:
Bob Scott:
Bob is retired after serving for over thirty years in the facilities management business. He is married to Marcy and they live in Upper Macungie Township.
Dr. Kenneth “Skip” Truscott:
Our deacons focus on mercy ministry and helping God's people to care for one another.
Tom Gillette: Tom is a business professional. He and his wife Joanne live in Schnecksville.
The Trustees: assist the Elders in the management of the church's resources.
Conrad Diem-President, Tim Barr, Dean Batten, Mike Bennett, Tom Gillette, Ed Harbison, Raymond Hayes, Bob Scott, Skip Truscott, and Pastor Tony Phelps.
Pastor Tim Young and his wife Linda faithfully served Living Hope OPC from it's beginning in February of 1990 until November of 2019. In 2020, the Session bestowed the honorary title of "Pastor Emeritus" on Tim to recognize his long and distinguished service to Living Hope OPC. While Pastor Tim is no longer an active member of Living Hope, he is still highly regarded and often called upon to lend wisdom and guidance to our congregants and lead or participate in weddings, funerals and other church events.
