Local Outreach

One of the main reasons we exist as a church is to reach out to our community with a message of hope and life. In one sense, everything we do has an outreach component. In all that we do--worship, education, fellowship, discipleship--we want to think, speak, and act in such a manner that Christianity is commended to those who don't yet believe.

We also believe it's important that we make an effort to engage the surrounding culture, build relationships with others, and communicate the practical relevance of the gospel. Our Outreach Team implements and oversees these initiatives. Our challenge is to discover what are the ways in which we can be most effective, most faithful to what God has entrusted to us.

The following Outreach efforts are ongoing on a continuous basis:

Allentown Rescue Mission

www.allentownrescuemission.org

For more than 100 years, the Mission has been a place where homeless men have begun to experience restoration with God, their families, and their communities. Living Hope is involved with the Rescue Mission in several ways:  direct financial support, fundraising through Players of the Stage, and providing volunteer help at the Mission and Mission fundraisers.

Bright Hope Pregnancy Support Centers

www.brighthopecenters.org

Bright Hope provides crisis pregnancy services in an effort to prevent abortions. They offer ultrasounds, counseling, and pre/post pregnancy support to men and women.  They also provide training to teens and other at-risk groups to promote a Christian view of sexuality.  Living Hope provides prayer and financial support to Bright Hope and its members also participate in special Bright Hope fundraising efforts.

Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation

Every heart is a mission field...and the mission of the Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF) is to see hearts transformed as God applies his Word to the problems of life. They have seen - thousands of times - that, in Christ, God truly has given his people "everything we need for life and godliness" (2 Peter 1:3). God's grace, God's Word, and God's people are what Christians need for personal change, spiritual growth, and help with the pressing problems of life.   Living Hope supports CCEF financially.

Players of the Stage

www.playersofthestage.org

Players of the Stage seeks to equip students, strengthen the Church, and reach out to our community.  They teach students fundamental drama skills and theories, as well as public speaking.  Living Hope provides the facility for Players of the Stage to practice and to give their presentations.  The group has raised tens of thousands of dollars for local Christian charities through their plays.  Many of the church's children participate in Players of the Stage.
