Zechariah 5:1-4 1  Again I lifted my eyes and saw, and behold, a flying scroll!

 

God Will Not Tolerate Sin Among His people But Will Remove It One Way or the other

 

1. God Will Remove Sin From His Church By His Word and Spirit

 

     Vss. 1-2 - What is the Flying Scroll?

 

               It is a covenant document =

               It is large –

               It is flying -                                        Romans 2:15  

                                            

     To the church

               Hebrews 4:11-13

               John 16:8-11 8  

 

2. God Will Remove All Sin

 

     Vs 3 - Why these two sins?

 

               They represent the two tables of the Law Exodus 32:15

               They are their sins…                                      Haggai 1:1-15

 

     To the church – All sin is sin and not just some sins we think are the worst

 

               The rest of the sins: evil thoughts, coveting, , envy, slander, ride,                    foolishness. greed, covetousness, which is idolatry. quarreling,                            jealousy, anger, hostility, slander, gossip, conceit, and disorder. and all liars

3. God Will Remove Sin One Way or the other

 

     He will do this by bringing repentance

 

               Through the Word and His Spirit…

 

               Through the Word and His Spirit and Your…

                              Galatians 6:1 1  

                              James 5:19-

              

     He will do this by excommunication - Matthew 18:1-35

 

     He will do this by removing the church from His church -              Revelation 2:5-6

              

     He may even do this by death - Acts 5,   1 Cor 11:30
