And grant, O merciful Father, for Jesus’ sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous and joyful life, to the glory of your holy name. Amen.

Communion Sermon

Christ in the OT (Genesis 3:1-15 with Romans 5:12-21): “What Adam Ruined Christ Redeems”

Adam represented us to our ruin; Christ represents us for our redemption.

1. Adam’s sin results in God’s judgment and Gospel promise. (Gen 3:1-15)

2, Adam’s ruin brings sin and death – and the second Adam. (Rom 5:12-14)

3. Adam’s trespass led to condemnation and death; Christ’s obedience leads to righteousness and life. (Rom 5:15-21)

Prayer of Application

Communion Preparation Hymn – NTH 252 – Stricken, Smitten, and Afflicted

Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper
