“Three Ways God Changes Us”

1 Corinthians 16:10-12 - 10  When Timothy comes, see that you put him at ease among you, for he is doing the work of the Lord, as I am. 11  So let no one despise him. Help him on his way in peace, that he may return to me, for I am expecting him with the brothers. 12  Now concerning our brother Apollos, I strongly urged him to visit you with the other brothers, but it was not at all his will to come now. He will come when he has opportunity.

God Changes Us By Perseverence In Streaching and Humbling Us

  1. God Changes Us By Following Through With Us

God does not give up on what he promises to do…

                              Philippians 1:6

                How Paul follows through:

  1. God Changes Us By Stretching Us

               The Story of Abraham –

How does God stretch the Corinthians?

                              He sends   Timothy……

                              Acts 16:1-2; 1Tim 5:23 ;   4:12

                               1Tim 5:23

  is

Why is Timothy a stretch?              Vs 11

How does this stretch them?          Vs 10 -

  1. God Chages Us By Humbling Us

Much of the change we need is blocked by

God does it in two ways:

               He sends us examples

He shows us our root sins and not the branches they cause

Vs 12  - Why talk about Appollos?

But it is never enough –

Phil 2:8 - Look to Jesus who is enough
