Grant us your Holy Spirit that we may be ever thankful and live a faithful and godly life in your service; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Sermon – An Exposition of Luke 24:13-35: “The Stranger on the Emmaus Road”

The risen Jesus opens up the Christ-centered Scriptures on the Emmaus Road to a couple of despairing disciples. They are:

1. Blind to the crucified and risen Christ – and the events of Good Friday & Easter morning. (Luke 24:13-24)

2. Instructed by the crucified and risen Christ – from all of Scripture. (Luke 24:25-27)

3. Enlightened to see to the crucified and risen Christ – in the breaking of bread. (Luke 24:28-35)

Prayer of Application

Song of Response – Psalm 16 (Trinity Psalter)

Benediction – Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:20-21
