for Sunday, March 10th, 2024 at 10:45 AM

Opening Song – O Church Arise

Announcements

Gospel Greeting – Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Call to Worship Song – TPH Psalm 100A – Shout to the LORD, All Earth

Call to Worship – Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! “For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?” “Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid?” For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen. – Romans 11:33-36

Prayer of Adoration & Invocation

Hymn of Praise – NTH 498 – Jesus! What a Friend for Sinners

Reading of the Law – Matthew 5:27-30

(Silent Confession of Sin)

Corporate Confession of Sin – Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended against your holy laws. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done; and we have done those things which we ought not to have done; and there is no health in us. But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable offenders. Spare those, O God, who confess their faults. Restore those who are penitent, according to your promises declared unto mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord. And grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous and sober life, to the glory of your holy name. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon – Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.         Romans 5:1-2

Membership Vows – Emily Batten

Exhortation to Give – For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich. – 2 Cor. 8:9

Collection with Prayer (Offertory: NTH 525 – My Faith Looks Up to Thee)

Doxology – NTH 731

Medley – Be Strong in the Lord / You are My All in All

Scripture Readings – OT: Ezekiel 47:1-10 / NT: John 21:1-14

Prayer for Illumination

Sermon – An Exposition of John 21:1-14: “The Risen Lord Makes Us Fishers of Men”

The risen Jesus appears to His disciples on the shore.

1. The risen Lord sees His failing fishermen. (John 21:1-3)

2. The risen Lord grants us success. (John 21:4-8)

3. The risen Lord renews our strength. (John 21:9-14)

Prayer of Application

Psalm of Response – Trinity Psalter 143 (tune: NTH 170 – Fairest Lord Jesus)

Benediction – Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.    Hebrews 13:20-21
