Call to Worship Song – To Thee We Ascribe Glory

Call to Worship – How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD of hosts! My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the LORD; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God. Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, at your altars, O LORD of hosts, my King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in your house, ever singing your praise!                   Psalm 84:1-4

Exhortation to Give – “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” – Matthew 6:19-21

Jesus the true King and spotless Lamb of God is willingly condemned for our sins.

1. Jesus is mocked yet vindicated as the True King. (John 19:1-5)

          a. Do you bow your knee to the True King?

2. Jesus is accused yet vindicated as the only Son of God. (John 19:6-11)

          a. Do you confess Jesus as the only Son of God?

3. Jesus is rejected yet vindicated as the spotless Passover Lamb. (John 19:12-16)

          a. Do you trust only the blood of the Lamb to deliver you from God’s judgment?

Prayer of Application

Hymn of Response – NTH 257 – Stricken, Smitten, and Afflicted

Benediction – Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word. 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17
