The First Miracle – Darkness – Matthew 27:45-46

 

  Matthew 27:45-46 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour. 46  And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

 

 The darkness of  tells you that God was judging your sins in Christ on the Cross Saving you from outer darkness

 

  1. Nature Always Played a Role As a Vehicle for God Declaring His Workings

 

  1. Nature following its usual course tells us about God in Natural revelation

 

                              Psalm 19:1          Acts 14:17           Romans 1:20  

              

  1. Nature has been used by God to reveal Himself and His Plan of redemption in Supernatural ways.

 

                              Exodus 3 –  , Ex 7-10 –  Exodus 18-21 –  Josh 10 -1 2 –  

              

  1. In the culmination of God’s plan we should expect God to reveal His works through nature

  1. Darkness Always Played a Particular Role In Revealing God’s Works

 

  1. Darkness on the part of man is always a symbol of sin and corruption

  1. Darkness on the part of God symbolized Judgment and separation from sin.

III. The Darkness of Calvary Is the Culmination of All Darkness Symbolized Concerning Judgment
