Hosea 5:1-15

 

God’s Omniscient Disciplinary Judgments Come Gradually and Incrementally to Lead Us to Repentance

 

1. God’s Knowledge of Us Is Omniscient

 

   vs. 3 I know all about Ephraim; Israel is not hidden from me.

 

Out of sight out of mind does not.....                           - Job 22:12-13  

 

Leaving Judah does not equal...                                   . Ezekiel 9:8-9  

 

Sin blinds us to God and makes us think...                .   Jeremiah 23:23-24  

 

2. Our Sin’s Against God Run Deep

 

     vss. 1-11 - Sin corrupts us in our highest activity –

 

vs. 1 – The place is wrong  

vs. 2 The way is wrong

 

vs. 6 – The result is wrong

3. God’s Disciplinary Judgments Start Shallow and Run As Deep As Necessary To

   Achieve His Purposes

 

     vss. 12-15     

              

Moths – Gentle and....

 

               Rot – Slower but....

 

               Lion – Resistless and....

 

                              vs. 13 – If we turn to...

 

               15 - As a last resort God will

              

 

Revelation 5:5-6   The Lion becomes a....
