Jesus is maligned by the self-righteous – who refuse to see Him for who He is.

  1. 1. They call Jesus a Samaritan – but His Word gives eternal life. (John 8:48-51)
  2. 2. They accuse Jesus of having a demon – but Abraham rejoiced to see His Day. (John 8:52-56)
  3. 3. They charge Jesus with blasphemy – but He says, “I AM.” (John 8:57-59)

 ANNOUNCEMENTS – Week of 10/03/2021

  1. 1. Reminder - October is Pastor Appreciation Month.
  2. 2. Note from Andie Batten: There will be a fellowship committee meeting after church today - 10/3 to discuss the Reformation Party, Ladies' craft breakfast, and our hosting of presbytery in early 2022. Anyone interested in helping with any of these events is welcome to attend.
  3. 3. The conference “Abuse in the Church?” will be held at Trinity OPC in Hatboro, PA on Friday/Saturday, October 8 & 9, 2021. For more information and to register, please go to philadelphia.opc.org/. It will be of special interest and usefulness to officers of the church and seminarians preparing for gospel ministry.
  4. 4. The annual Harvest Dinner will be served after morning worship on October 10th.  Everyone is asked to sign up and bring a main dish and one of the following three dishes - a salad, vegetable or dessert (each dish should serve 12 or more).  Clean up families for this meal in 2021 are needed.
  5. 5. The next Women's Bible Study will be Thursday, 10/14, here at the church at 10AM. Newcomers are welcome to join us as we study the glorious riches of God's grace that we have in Christ Jesus. Bring your Bible, a pencil and notebook. See Andie Batten if you have any questions. Future dates: 10/28 and 11/11.
  6. 6. Men of the church will meet for the Men’s Breakfast on Saturday, October 16th at 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church.  Along with the continental breakfast, it is a time of fellowship, Bible discussion and prayer. Currently we are studying Disciplines of a Godly Man by Kent Hughes. For October, please read chapter 11. Breakfast will be provided. This event will also be on Zoom.
  7. 7. The last Women's Fellowship will be on Tuesday, October 19, at 6:30 p.m. at the church.  Dot Hemmerle is scheduled to lead our devotions.  This will be the first time she will be with us since the pandemic and she cannot get the vaccination, so masks will be required!!  Let's make a special effort to be there.
  8. 8. Operation Christmas Child - This year we will be packing our own shoeboxes- just like we did last year. There are shoeboxes under the Operation Christmas child table or you can use your own shoeboxes. Please drop off your filled shoeboxes no later than Sunday, November 7. Ideas on what to put in your shoe box are in the brochure which is on the table or you can look at the sample shoeboxes on the table.
