We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon – But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. – Titus 3:4-7

Sermon – An Exposition of John 7:25-36: “Is Jesus the Messiah?”

Jesus’ origin, signs, and destination raise questions which demand a definitive answer.

  1. Why is this controversial Jesus teaching openly? (John 7:25-27)
  2. Where is Jesus really from? What about His signs? Is He the Christ? (John 7:28-31)
  3. Where is Jesus going? Why wouldn’t we be able to find Him? (John 7:32-36)

Prayer of Application

Hymn of Response – NTH 62 – Sing to the Lord, Sing His Praise (Psalm 96)

Benediction – The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26
