Lifting Up Christ In Colossians

“In Case of Flooding”

Colossians 3:16-17 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Allow God’s Word To Flood Your Life

1. Let the Flood of the Word Fill You Up – 16a

The flood we should not sandbag out -

We should let it in to the brim

                              Ps 119:11

2. Let the Flood of the Word Overflow Out of You – 16b

Don’t try this with a low water level

                              teach –

Admonish –

               b. Do this out deep water as a warm and wise and humble natural overflow

                              warm –

                              wise -

                              thankful –

2 Timothy 4:2   Romans 15:14

3. Let the Flood of the Word Carry You Along - 17

A Flood takes you, you don’t take it

2 Peter 1:21

The flood of the Word in you must take you where it takes you

               Psalms 119:169

You must not divert the flood to justify sin - 2 Peter 3:15-16

What does “do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus” really mean?

Psalms 119:11

Psalms 119:133
