ANNOUNCEMENTS – week of 8/16/2020

  1. - We are please to have Pastor Emeritus, Tim Young preaching today. We are thankful for all his years of service and also for his willingness to come and preach God’s word this morning.
  2. - Remember Pastor Phelps and his family as they are away on vacation. While Pastor Phelps is away, please make sure you send your prayer requests to one of the elders. If you would like it sent out to the congregation, please indicate that.
  3. - The Podcast for the 8/02/2020 sermon has been posted. Pastor Young will be filling in for Pastor Phelps this week to review his 8/16/2020 sermon. Look for it soon.
  4. - HOPE KIDS Backpack Event is coming up.  We are looking for school supplies to give to the HOPE KIDS. - Next Sunday, (August 23) will be the only day that we will be accepting donations.  Thank you for all your support over the last few years for the kids in Allentown. – NOTE: For the last three years LH has collected school supplies for the HOPE KIDS and the kids of Allentown.  They usually give out 500-600 backpacks. I have been communicating with Emmanuel, the pastor.  They are hoping to do this on a limited scale this year.  Allentown S/D is doing online schooling for the beginning of the year, but the kids will still need supplies.  It is also a way to show love and support for the kids.
  5. - A reminder that there are no Wednesday evening activities during the month of August. Plans are being formulated to begin some of these activities in September. Stay tuned.
  6. - The Session once again wants to thank everyone for their generous support of the church during this strange time. As we have said before, even though things are different, the church still has financial needs.
  7. - For the last three weeks we have had volunteers for cleaning the church. After speaking with Jean Morris yesterday, she feels that she will not be ready to return to cleaning just yet, SO we will need a volunteer for next Week.
  8. - Next Sunday, our guest preacher will be Tim Krizan. Tim is an elder in the Wilmington OP Church and is a licentiate of the Philadelphia Presbytery.
