(Silent Confession of Sin)

Corporate Confession of Sin

Have mercy on us, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out our transgressions. Wash us thoroughly from our iniquity and cleanse us from our sin. For we know our transgressions, and our sin is ever before us. Against you, you only, have we sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified in your words and blameless in your judgment. Purge us with hyssop, and we shall be clean; wash us and we shall be whiter than snow. For you have promised, O Father, that if we confess our sins, you will be faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness – by the blood of your Son, Jesus. Restore to us the joy of your salvation by the power of your Holy Spirit. And enable us, by your grace, to walk in the light of your Gospel, and to show fellow sinners the way of repentance. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon

The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. He will

not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever. He does not deal with us according to

our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above

the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is

from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. Ps. 103:8-12

Exhortation to Give – Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him! Worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness. 1 Chron. 16:29

  5. NOTE: Congregational MeetingSuggested CHANGES TO LH BYLAWS - The Session is proposing wording changes to our Bylaws for clarity regarding the process of nomination, training and certification of officers, and better explaining the timing of congregational meetings needed for the process.  The LH bylaws are patterned after the OPC Book of Church Order--which sometimes does not have the best wording.  We are suggesting making changes in wording for clarity and NOT for changing the substance of the intent and necessary details put forth by the OPC.  The document shows the changes as they will appear in the body of the bylaws--and as the bylaws provide---there is an "amendments" section which shows BOTH the original wording and the new changed version for comparison so the reader can see and understand what is being changed. There is a copy of these suggested changes posted on the bulletin board in the hallway.
  6.
