Gospel Greeting – Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. 1 Timothy 1:2

Call to Worship Song – NTH 381 – Brethren, We Have Met to Worship

Call to Worship – Blessed is the one you choose and bring near, to dwell in your courts! We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house, the holiness of your temple! Psalm 65:4

Prayer of Adoration & Invocation

Hymn of Praise – NTH 355 – We Are God’s People

Reading of the Law – Deuteronomy 5:1-21

(Silent Confession of Sin)

Corporate Confession of Sin – Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done; and we have done those things which we ought not to have done; and there is no health in us. But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us. And grant, O merciful Father, for Jesus’ sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous and joyful life, to the glory of your holy name. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon – For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly… But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:6, 8

Doxology – NTH 731

Exhortation to Give – Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. – 2 Corinthians 9:7-8

Prayer for Collection & Pastoral Prayer

Medley

– NTH 334 – Breathe on Me, Breath of God

– Let It Be Said of Us

Scripture Readings – OT: Leviticus 19:9-18 / NT: Galatians 5:13-18

Prayer for Illumination

Sermon – An Exposition of Galatians 5:13-18: “A Conflicted Freedom”

Christ sets us free by the Spirit to serve one another in love. But why is it so hard to do so?

  1. Conflict one: The Law of love versus the law of nature. (Galatians 5:13-15).
  2. Conflict two: The Spirit versus the flesh. (Galatians 5:16-18)

Prayer of Application

Hymn of Response – NTH 332 – Come, Holy Spirit, Heavenly Dove

Benediction – Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word. 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17
