Prelude – For the Cause

Announcements

Gospel Greeting – May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. 2 Peter 1:2

Call to Worship Song – NTH 381 – Brethren, We Have Met to Worship

Call to Worship – Know that the LORD, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! Psalm 100:3-4

Prayer of Adoration & Invocation

Opening Hymn – NTH 369 – Shout for the Blessed Jesus Reigns

Reading of Law – Exodus 20:1-17

Confession of Sin – Most holy and merciful Father, we acknowledge and confess before you our sinful nature – prone to evil and slothful in good – and all our shortcomings and offenses against you. You alone know how often we have sinned in wandering from your ways, in wasting your gifts, in forgetting your love. O Lord, have mercy on us, who are ashamed and sorry for all the ways we have displeased you. Teach us to hate our errors, cleanse us from our secret faults, and forgive our sins for the sake of your dear Son. And O most holy and loving Father, send your purifying grace into our hearts, we beseech you, and that we may henceforth live in your light and walk in your ways, according to the commandments of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Declaration of Pardon – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.  - John 3:16-17

Confession of Faith (The Apostles’ Creed)

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Doxology – NTH 732

Exhortation to Give – Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering, and come into his courts! Ps. 96:8

 ANNOUNCEMENTS – Week of 11/08/2020

1. Sunday School – Sunday 11/08/2020 – Kristen Cornell will be making a presentation during Sunday School regarding her missionary trip to Jamaica. Please arrive before 9:45am so Kristen can begin on time. All Sunday School age groups will be in the auditorium for this presentation.

2. There will be a church wide Operation Christmas Child packing party on Monday, November 9, at Living Hope. It starts at 6:30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend. Please let Mollykate Miner know if you plan to attend because the number of people who attend affects the number of boxes we pack. Nelson Randolph, who works for Operation Christmas Child, (he assists in helping groups do packing parties) supplies all the materials and asks for a love offering to help offset the cost of the materials. I hope you can attend!

3. Rev. David Holmlund will be leading Sunday School and Preaching on Sunday, 11/15. During Sunday School, Dave will be discussing the Home Missions work he is leading.

4. On Sunday, November 22, 2020, the new mission (church plant) work in Doylestown, led by Dave Holmlund, will be celebrating the Lord’s Supper for the first time during their worship service. We are looking for families to travel down there to worship together and support that new church. For more information contact Bob Scott.

5. There will be a Thanksgiving Eve service here at the church on Wednesday, 11/25/2020 at 7:00pm. Please plan on joining us for that service.

6. The OPC Annual Thank Offering will be taken on Sunday 11/29/2020. This offering supports Christian Education, Home and Foreign Missions. More information will be sent out in a separate email. As a reminder, the Offering Box is located at the back of the Auditorium.

7. Hope Community Church is again collecting Christmas gifts for the inner city kids in Allentown.  They said that they have enough gifts for the 5-8 year olds.  They need gifts for children 9-12.  The suggested price is $10.  Place gifts in box provided in the hallway.  Any questions, contact Beth Barshinger.

8. There are new missionary prayer cards in everyone's boxes.  There are extras on the table for visitors and family members who want them and also for previous months.  Please be praying for them regularly.

9. SERMONS - A few of you have asked about re-listening to the Sermon, but do not want to go back and review the entire Video. Attached is a link that will take you to a behind the scenes webpage that gives you access to MP3 files containing just the audio of the sermon (and a lot of other stuff).
